The Wauseon Fire Dept. brought their 1916 Seagrave Fire Truck, with an open cockpit and
hand rung brass bell. It was the first piece of motorized fire fighting equipment purchased
for Fulton County. The Truck was restored by the Wauseon Firemen’s Assoc. in the late
1970's. It was last driven in 1986 in the Homecoming Parade.
Thanks to The Farmers & Merchants State Bank employees who helped at the registration
table and also sell 50-50 tickets. They also had their popcorn machine going. Proceeds
were donated to the Cruise Night.
We appreciate the organizations and businesses that served food as follows: Wauseon
Chamber of Commerce, Jill’s Pizza Wagon, Methodist Church - served Hot sandwiches
chips, pie and ice cream, First Christian Church served Homemade Ice Cream, Jim & Penny
with their popcorn machine and carmel corn ( they come every cruise-in), and Tiffany’s Café.

relatives in Michigan heard of our cruise- in. So she cruised in with her 2005 Dodge Magnum,

Dodge Magnum’s, 2 Black and two Red plus they own 20 other cars. They like their cars.
Ray Hensley from Swanton came in his 1957 Red Chev. Belair. Nice looking.
Thanks to State Bank & Trust employees for helping at the registration table and selling
50-50 tickets.
A big thank you to all the Sponsors for making our Cruise-In’s possible. It is a great activity
for the community. Come join us in August. Reminder August 17th is our next Super Cruise.

a lot of nice vehicles.
Jerry Hooch cruised in with his 1961 Jeep Commando. Nicely restored. It made you think of going
on a safari.
Brad Bailey of Deshler, cruised in with his 1931 Model A Ford, 4 cyl. Truck. All restored back to
original. The frame was powder coated by Powder Coating Plus, LLC of Archbold. Mr. Bailey did
say that the truck has a little more horse power than originally. The paint job was beautiful. (Red
with black trim and gold pin stripe.) It was painted by Garold & Sons Restoration located in Nappanee,
Indiana.
We had several Elcamino's cruise in. Betty Rathbun, Committee Member, cruised in with her 1983

of the cruise from the aerial ladder. The Firemen's Convention was held in Wauseon this year, June
18th and 19th.
Music for the evening was by "Five O' Clock Rush". They entertained us with 50-60's music.

with their popcorn. Also, The Farmers & Merchants State Bank had their Popcorn machine going.
They donate the proceeds to Cruise Night. Thanks to everyone. They help make our cruise-ins
a success.
June 22nd - It was a hot night. Maybe that's why we only had 37 cars. Everyone in attendance was
invited to the Drive-In Theatre after the cruise, located near Liberty Center (free of charge) thanks
to owner Rod Saunders.
We want to thank the Boy Scout adult Committee Members of Troop 8 who helped at the registration table.

Committee Members, cruised in with their newly restored 1964 Chev. 409 red convertible. All restored
back to original. Bob did most of the restoration himself. His friend, Sandy Currie, from Orrillia, Ontario,
Canada did the body work and paint job. Beautiful Car.
Merl Sauder cruised in with his 1955 C-800 Ford Semi Tractor and flat bed. All restored back to original.
He was hauling a log from his great, great Grandfather's farm. It was the top half of a 175 year old tree.
Counting the rings it goes back to 1835, before Abraham Lincoln became President. The log weighs
16,000 pounds. Mr. Sauder stated that the wood could not be used for anything because of all the
knots. The bottom half is on display at the Sauder Museum in Archbold, Ohio. Mr. Sauder said that
pulling the 16,000 pound log makes his semi tractor "bark". Sounds good.
Thanks to Sara's Garden Staff for helping with the registration of the cars and selling 50-50 tickets.
Proceeds of the 50-50 drawing went to Sara's Garden.
Also, thanks to all the sponsors, merchants and organizations for their donations to help make the
cruise-ins a success.
Hope you see you all in July. Reminder - Super Cruise is scheduled for
July 20th.
May 2010
Wauseon Cruise Night started Tuesday May 4th. The weather was perfect. We had 70 cars on display. The following two weeks it rained so we had to cancel. We had some very nice looking cars cruise into Wauseon the month of May.
May 25th turned out to be a beautiful evening for the Cruise. We had a total of 83 cars. Our President, Arnie Bunke was ready to cruise and show off his 1941 Plymouth. This car was originally his father's. Arnie found it in someone's barn and had it restored. Arnie and Shirley (his wife of 50 years) went out on their first date in this car. It has a lot of special memories.
Shorty Bischoff, from Napoleon, came cruising in with his 1956 Ford Truck (build by Dick Laiman.) He added something new since last year, pin striping, which was done by Todd Hanson of Wauseon. Looking good Shorty! :)
May 25th was the night for Drag Cars. Paul Rashley of Wauseon came in his 1964 Mercury Comet AFX Drag Car. He said it is one of 10 ever built. His friend Bob Floyd of Toledo brought his 1965 Plymouth Belvedere, with a 528 cubic inch wedge motor, A990 clone, 700 horse power. Mr. Rashley said, "It's a real animal." Dick Laiman from Lyons brought his 1978 Pinto 2.8 Liter Drag Car, which he just finished building. Dick said it has not been raced yet. He named the car "Pinto from Hell." WHY?? It came from Hell, Michigan!
A big "Thank You" to our wonderful sponsors/merchants who donated items for our goody bags. We gave out 10 goody bags each night. Also, a "Thank You" to the NW Telephone Pioneers for helping at the registering table.
